I have been a primary school teacher since 2003. I live in Dubbo NSW where I have worked and raised my children. In all of my years and experiences as a classroom teacher, I know that some students with learning differences will need additional personalised one to one support. In a busy class of usually more that 25 individuals, learning gaps for struggling learners can widen and the pace of learning in the classroom leaves them falling behind even further. Understandably, this creates worry and stress for both the student and their parents/carers. The personal impacts on these students can affect their confidence, self-perception as a learner, their future educational goals and motivation to learn. 

After more than 20 years in the classroom, my strong desire to help these students overcome literacy and numeracy barriers has become my passion. I have a particular interest in Dyslexia (difficulties in reading & writing), Dysgraphia (difficulties with handwriting, spelling and writing) and Dysclaculia (math difficulties). I have studied these learning differences for many years, gaining qualifications in Multisensory Structured Language and becoming an Associate Member of the Australian Dyslexia Association (AMADA). I am a member of SPELD NSW and have attained certificates in Dyscalculia through them. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. This is why I have foundered LANS Intervention, because I care deeply about helping students who struggle in reading, writing, spelling and maths.
